Yogi Government to Launch Free Housing Scheme for Poor in Uttar Pradesh
The Yogi government will provide housing to the poor free of cost under Uttar Pradesh Free Housing Scheme. The housing and urban planning department has been making proposals for making the house free for the homeless poor. Low-priced housing will also be made for low-income class homeless people.
What is Uttar Pradesh Free Housing Scheme
Yogi government wants that no poor people should be homeless. Rehabilitation of the residents of slum dwellers in urban areas. Since the poor who do not have enough money to eat properly, it is impossible to raise money for the home, so the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to provide free accommodation to such poor people.
Yogi Adityanath, who is also taking charge of the Housing Minister along with the Chief Minister, the departmental officers have gathered in preparing proposals regarding providing free accommodation to the poor. Additional Chief Secretary of Housing and Urban Planning Department Sadakant said that in view of the housing schemes of the poor in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, a new scheme will be started soon in the state. In this regard, a meeting of all the development authorities, Vice-Chancellor and Commissioner of Housing has been convened on April 25. According to sources, the free housing scheme for the poor will be in the name of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
Sadakant told that accommodation will be made cheap in the low-income category along with free housing for the poor. It is worth mentioning that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is already underway to provide affordable accommodation to all by 2022. Under the scheme, where the central government gives a grant of Rs 1.5 lakh and a one lakh rupees for housing for EWS (poor income group). Similarly, for housing upto six lakh rupees, loan facility at the rate of 6.5 percent interest is available.
According to the promise made by the BJP through the resolution letter in the Assembly elections, poor welfare cards will be made to provide benefit to the poor by all the welfare schemes. The basis for selection of poor for the free house will also be done through the poor welfare card. It is worth mentioning that about 35 lakh poor families have been selected through SUDA under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme.
