In order to promote higher education for girls in UP, the state government will give a lump sum of Rs 10,000 to one lakh meritorious students who pass high school.
Under the new Mukhyamantri Medhavi Balika Samvardhan Yojana, the government can reduce the amount from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 20,000 which was fixed for the students passing the Intermediate Examination.
This decision was taken in the meeting held for reviewing the functioning of the Secondary and Higher Education Department in the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Dinesh Sharma on Monday. After completion of the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister directed Additional Chief Secretary Higher and Secondary Education Sanjay Agarwal to make provision in the budget for this.
