Uttar Pradesh Govt. to Scrapped Samajwadi Pension Scheme
After coming in form Yogi Adityanath as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. UP government has decided to scrapped the Samajwadi Pension Scheme which was launched by the previous government Samajwadi Party and Chief Minister has ordered a detailed review of its beneficiaries.
According to an official, the chief minister was reviewing various scheme being run by the Social Welfare Department of the state and he asked the officials to stall the pension scheme and review the list of beneficiaries to the who are deserving for the scheme or not.
However, the scheme is to provide a pension of Rs. 500 per month to Below Poverty Line families.
Chief Minister Adityanath also directed the officials to review doubling the pension amount of Rs. 500 for widows, people with disabilities, and senior citizens and present it before the cabinet.
Besides, the officials have been ordered to complete the review of beneficiaries within a month and there was a suggestion to rename the scheme as ‘Mukhyamantri Pension Yojna’ (Chief Minister’s Pension Scheme).
