 Udan scheme is a new scheme launched by central government. Under UDAN scheme government will provide air connectivity to unserved and remote routes allover.Along this airfare have been capped with a capped (total) airfare at Rs 2,500 for an hour’s journey of around 500 km under regional connectivity.This scheme has been launched to boost tourism and growth.

 Under new Udan scheme air fair will b capped by Rs 2,500 for one hour of flight.Also the first flight under the UDAN scheme will be take off in January. Udan scheme may be called as the regional connectivity scheme launched by Central government. Udan scheme is the first “One of its kind ” scheme that has been launched in the world.

Details to know about Flights under UDAN scheme

  • The government expects the first flight under this scheme to take off in January.
  • Air passengers on major routes  have to spend more for flights to fund the regional connectivity scheme.
  • UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) will be based on market mechanism.
  • Flights under Udan will have a bidding for a minimum of 9 seats and a maximum of 40 seats in a fixed wing aircraft.
  • For 50% of the seats of flights under UDAN, the fare cap will be Rs 2,500, and the rest will be market-based pricing.

  1. Good initiative. One hour flight equates around may be 500 km. Will this cap apply even for bigger routes like Hyd – Blr, Hyd – Chennai, Chennai – Blr etc? Would be great if it does.
