Thiruvantimpuram Annam Punyam Project to be Extended to More Villages
Annam Punyam Project – The Thiruvantimpuram district administration taken a decision of extending the Annam Punyam Project to more beneficiaries in the district. The main motto of the project is to provide a meal for the hungry people of the district.
After the starting of the third phase of the program, the Annam Punyam will be implemented in association with Hotel and Restaurant Association. It will be implemented in more villages by Onam after rolling out of the third phase.
Currently, the 2nd phase of the program is being implemented in the district. The Annam Punyam program was initiated in the year 2015 for ensuring that no person in the district is left hungry due to lack of money.

Presently, in 27 village offices, 13 government hospitals, taluk offices and the district collectorates, the Annam Punyam coupons are being distributed. Besides this, more than 115 hotels are part of this program. The needy beneficiaries can collect the coupons and have food at select hotels free of cost.
As per the Hotel Representatives, more hotels have come up expressing interest in being part of the program. Besides this, the Boards have also been set up at the offices where the coupons are being distributed and also at the hotels which are part of the program.
