The Telangana government’s Kalyana Lakshmi scheme will now be extended to the poor girls of Brahmin community also.
What is Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme
Under this scheme, the state government provides financial assistance of Rs 75,116 to the poor girls of various communities.
The State government would also offer scholarship under Vivekananda Overseas Scheme and Lakshya for higher studies abroad to poor Brahmin students.
Officials concerned will identify the beneficiaries to offer monetary help under the scheme. The Telangana State Brahmin Welfare Parishad Chairman K V Ramanachary informed that the marriage scheme would be extended to the poor Brahmin girls also.
He said a website for the Parishath would be launched on May 9 which would have all details and programs for the cause of Brahmins.
He said that the government also construct a Brahmin Sadan at Gachibowli on June 5. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has promised adequate funds for the welfare of Brahmins as the community has poor people and it is expected that the Chief Minister would lay the foundation stone for Brahmin Sadan.
Brahmin Welfare Parishad Chairman also said the Vivekananda Overseas Education scheme for the Brahmin students would prove handy as there were many poor families, who could not afford to go abroad all by themselves for studies. Financial assistance would be offered to those students for taking training under Lakshya scheme.
He said that Brahmin students, who excelled and topped in examinations would be offered incentives and required support under Saraswathi Vidya Prashasti scheme. A meeting would be conducted with the students who attended and were selected in the Job Mela which was conducted recently, he said.
