The Tamil Nadu Government has come up with good news for the Ration Card Holders of the state on the auspicious occasion of Pongal. The state government has announced to give PONGAL Gift for the people of the state. The state government will give Rs. 1000 cash and a gift hamper to all the ration card holders of the state on this Pongal.

The Governor of the state, Banwarilal Purohit gave this information. While addressing the state assembly, he said, “I am happy to announce that this Government has decided to help all Ration Card holders with 1,000 rupees cash to celebrate Pongal festival.

This scheme will be applicable to the entire state except for Thiruvarur district because the code of conduct is applicable due to the Re-election in Thiruvarur assembly constituency. The Pongal gift hamper will consist of raw rice, sugar, raisins, cashew, cardamom and sugarcane (कच्चा चावल, चीनी, किशमिश, काजू, इलायजी और गन्ना), which will be given to all cardholders to reduce the impact of drought in Gaja cyclone and northern districts in Kaveri Delta.

Other Important Information Given By Governor Purohit

Governor Purohit said that the state government is launching a comprehensive restructuring program for transport corporations with the support of the German bilateral funding agency KFW. The governor said that the state government will also reconstitute its transport corporations with the help of German agency KFW and prepare a housing project for slum dwellers.

He said that industrial policy will be released shortly in the space and defense sector so that indigenous components can be promoted in both these areas. According to him, the state government has prepared a comprehensive housing project ‘Tamil Nadu Housing and Habitat Development Project’ with the help of the World Bank, which aims to transform the slums of Chennai, Thiruvalluvar and Kanchipuram districts.
