Suryamitra Skill Development Program – National Institute of Solar Energy (NICE), an autonomous body, and the Ministry of New Renewable Energy (MNRE) is the highest national research and development institute in the field of solar energy. Suryamitra skill development programs have been organized in different locations throughout the country with the help of NICE State Nodal Agencies.

Suryamitra Skill Development Program

The aim of the program is to develop the skills of the youth, in view of the opportunities for growing solar energy employment opportunities in India and abroad, the establishment, operation and maintenance of the energy project is to be done. The Suryamitra program has also been prepared for preparing candidates in the form of new entrepreneurs in the solar energy sector. Suryamitra Skill Development Program is sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Government of India.

NISE has a program to promote solar power in the country. In such a situation, there is a shortage of youth working in this area, then by training by NISE, youth will be prepared, which has been named as a Solar Mitra. ITI is a suitable candidate for T.V. and Electrician, Wireman, Electronics, Mechanic, Fitter, Sheet METIL, a young ITI. For this, the training provided by NISE is a totally free residential training program, where staying and food will also be free. This is a 600-hour training program. After training, applicants will also be evaluated. For this, NISE has authorized 99 centers across the country.

Eligibility Criteria for Suryamitra Skill Development Program

  • Candidates must have passed 10th and have done ITI in Electrician / Wireman / Electronic Mechanic / Fitter / Sheet Metal
  • Age must not be less than 18 years

Scheme Duration & Seats

The duration of this residential skill development program is 600 hours (approximately 90 days). This is a residential program and it is free, which includes boarding and lodging. The Suryumitra Skills Development Program has been sponsored by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India.

Seats – At present, there will be 30 seats for each batch of the training program.

At the end of the course, the appropriate assessment will be done and certificates will be issued.

Suryamitra Skill Development Program Admission

The State Nodal Agencies of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the host institution have advertised the batches of the program in print and/or electronic media, including dates and place of training.

The final selection of trainees for the program will be done by the host institution and the details of the proposed participants should be informed to the NICE / related SNA before the start of the program.

During the selection of trainees, special emphasis will be given to trainees coming from the rural background, unemployed, female candidates, scheduled castes / scheduled tribes.

Suryamitra Mobile app

It has been developed by the National Institute of Solar Energy, an autonomous body under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The ‘Suryamitra’ mobile app is available on Google Play Store from where it can download and use it all over India.
