Siliguri SJDA Housing Scheme – SJDA, the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) is going to construct residential flats for people beloging to the LIG (Lower Income Group) and MIG (Middle Income Group) categories of the society near North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) under Siliguri SJDA Housing Scheme. This information was given by the SJDA chairman Sourav Chakraborty.

These housing units are the part of a plan to expand Siliguri town. The North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) is located on the outskirts of the town.
Chairman Mr. Chakraborty said that the authority will construct a housing complex near the NBMCH. The authority will construct a total number of 60 MIG residential flats and 40 LIG residential flats. The population is on the rise on the outskirts of Siliguri and for providing accommodation to some of them, these flats would be constructed.
Chairman also said that the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) will also take up projects of around Rs 46 crore including construction of roads, drainage and beautification, in many wards of Siliguri and its surrounding areas.
Apart from this, he also mentioned about his recent visits to different areas of Siliguri sub-division and adjoining areas of Jalpaiguri.
The SJDA Authority Chairman further said that based on our visits, the authority has decided to illuminate all major junctions which are outside the civic area (in Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad area and under Jalpaiguri). High mast lights will be installed in these locations. Also, on the new Hindi college campus at Hatighisha (in Naxalbari block), we will develop the ground and built more classrooms by spending Rs 50 lakh.
