Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Madhya Pradesh – Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh, the school education department has opened the primary schools (first to fifth) for providing education in all Bastis (habitations). The department claims that about 28 thousand new primary schools have been opened in the state.

According to the information given on Monday, availability of schools has been ensured in all the habitations (बस्तियों) of the state. Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, 27,910 new primary schools have been opened and 17,851 primary schools have been converted into secondary schools (up to VIII).
10,624 Sanctioned for Primary and Secondary Schools Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Madhya Pradesh
According to official details, the number of primary schools has increased from 83,890 and the number of secondary schools has increased to 30,341 after the schools started in the pre-colonies. Thus, by the start of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the number of primary schools has increased by 50 percent and the number of secondary schools has increased by 143 percent. Under SSA, new buildings have been sanctioned for 10,624 primary and secondary schools in the state. Of these 9209 school buildings have been completed. Construction work of remaining buildings is being completed soon.
According to the prescribed criteria of the Right to Education Act, the primary school is being opened in the periphery of one kilometer, if minimum 40 children in the age group of six to 11 years are available in any Basti. Similarly, in the Basti, at least 12 children of the age group of 11 to 14 years of age are being started, secondary school is being started in the circumference of three kilometers.
