Rural Housing Odisha – Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(Gramin) – Indira Awas Yojana (IAY)
The ambitious housing scheme of Rural Development Ministry ‘Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY)’ had been renamed as Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin). Under this scheme, the Central Government provides affordable housing units to the houseless poor families and those living in less than two kutcha rooms as per SECC-2011 Survey are eligible for availing housing assistance to construct a minimum of 25 Sq. Mtr. of house.
Rural Housing Odisha – Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana
The Odisha Government had launched the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana during the financial year, 2014-15 replacing the old Scheme “MO-KUDIA YOJANA”. The main motive of the state government behind launching this scheme is to achieve the objective of converting all the kutcha houses to pucca houses.
Components of Biju Pucca Ghar Scheme
The BPGY has two components:
- BPGY (Normal)
- BPGY (Special)
Rural Housing Odisha – Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (Mining)
Under this scheme, the state government provides pucca houses to all the kutcha families who are living in 691 mining affected villages of 08 Districts i.e. Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj & Sundargarh aon saturation mode.
The Odisha Mineral Bearing Areas Development Corporation (OMBADC) funds this scheme. Besides this, the Odisha Panchayati Raj Department had implemented this scheme. Apart from this, the unit assistance and installment pattern are same as with BPGY beneficiaries.
Rural Housing Odisha – Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana (NSPGY)
The state government provides financial assistance to the Building and other construction workers between the age of 18 years and 60 years having existing valid registration with the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Such workers are eligible to avail the benefits of the financial assistance under the Building and other construction workers (RE&CS) Act at least for a continuous period of 3 years.
