Punjab Smart Ration Card Scheme – The Punjab Government is going to launch the Punjab Smart Ration Card Scheme in order to stop the corruption in the ration. In this, all beneficiaries taking advantage of Ration Card are being linked to Aadhaar card. Not only that, the distribution of ration under the same system from June will be distributed. Under this, according to Aadhaar card, a thumb mark or eye scan will be given for the identification of the beneficiary.
Punjab Smart Ration Card Scheme
Punjab Food and Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu told that the state government has introduced this Punjab Smart Ration Card Scheme to bring transparency in the distribution system in the state. Distribution of wheat to eligible beneficiaries in the state will be done through electronic point of sale. He said that there are 16 thousand depots and 1,400 inspectors in the state. The machine will be given to inspectors and each inspector will cover 10-12 depots.
Monitoring will be Done Through Portal
According to Bharat Bhushan Ashu, at present, 1.37 crore people of 35,26,775 families in Punjab are taking advantage of this scheme. So far, 95.26 percent people of 98.24 percent of households have linked their Aadhar Card to Ration Card, which is now registered on the portal, so that no fraudulent person can take any ration of any other person. Ashu told that the procurement of wheat from the market reaches the depot holder through the warehouse and finally the beneficiary. The entire process will be monitored through the portal.
Identification Through Eye Scanning
Minister Bharat Bhushan said that if a problem occurs in the biometric machine for the convenience of people, then if any problem occurs in scanning the thumb then the eyes can be identified and the beneficiary can be identified. The weights prepared by the Central Board of Company (Broadcast Engineering Consultant India Limited) have been provided to give the ration taker to the Food Standard as per the norms so that there is no disturbance in the distribution.
