Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Yojana – The Central Government has launched the Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Yojana in order to make use of the capacity of the tribal community in the proper use of economic development of the tribal society and the utilization of forest wealth for the development of the country. On 14th April, 2018, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of the first Van Dhan development center in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on the basis of Ambedkar Jayanti. This scheme will be conducted under the supervision of the Public Relations Ministry and (TRIFED) Tribunal of the Operative Marketing Development Federation of India. This scheme has been started for skill development of the youth of tribal people.
Objectives of Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Yojana
The first center under the scheme was established in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. In this center, provision has been made to provide skill development training to 300 youth of tribal class. Under the scheme, information related to the proliferation of primary processing units and the value addition of crops will be given to training tribal youths in Imli, Mahua storage, cleanliness and packaging of Kalanji. Thereby, their efficiency will increase and forest wealth and tribal wealth will be fully utilized in the development of the country.
Benefits of Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Yojana
- Under this scheme, the youth of the tribal areas will be given training in Van Dhan Vikas Kendra for the storage of flowers, the flower of mahua, the cleansing of the skin and other minor forest products such as honey, brusheswood, cans, tussar and tribal areas. Training related to the maintenance of herbs will be given. This will increase the efficiency of the youth of the tribal class.
- Tribal areas will be developed and the economic condition of the tribal class will improve.
- The work capacity of tribal tribal people will be able to contribute to the development of the country.
