Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala yojana will Launched Today in Jammu & Kashmir

People who are living in Jammu and Kashmr havn’t heard any of a good news in months. There’s a bit of good news for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.The Central government is going to launch the free Liquefied Petroleum Gas distribution (LPG) scheme under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in the state Today.
Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the main in the state to launch the Ujjwala scheme. Also along with free Lpg Gas connection a financial assistance of Rs 1600/- will be also provided to the beneficiaries.

According to officials, Chief minister will launch the scheme from Jammu and Srinagar on Wednesday and separate events will also be performed in the state on this occasion. A senior official of the petroleum ministry said the main purpose of the scheme is to ensure that the poor people of India get the benefit of LPG connection and Jammu and Kashmir cannot remain an exception as from now the benefit of this scheme has been extended in hilly areas .

Women residing in hilly areas of our country generally use firewood for cooking and it is a difficult task to procure this an to collect all the material required.”Distributorship will also be increased to ensure supply of cylinders in the coming days,” said an official.Concerned department is also looking into the possibility of setting up small bottling plants in Srinagar and other hilly locations in India.

Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Uttar Pradesh on May 1 in Baliya, this year to provide clean cooking fuel to women belonging to the BPL households across the country.
