Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana Himachal Pradesh – The Central Government of India and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana ( PMSSY). Yesterday, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mr Virbhadra Singh with JP Nadda, the Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, GOI laid the Foundation Stone of Super Speciality Block and Tertiary Care Cancer Centre at Indira Gandhi Medical College.

The Central Government’s ambitious scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY)’ was launched in 2003. The main motto of this scheme was to correct regional imbalances in the availability of affordable/ reliable tertiary healthcare services and also to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country.
Components of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana ( PMSSY)
(i) Setting up of AIIMS like Institutions
(ii) Upgradation of Government Medical College Institutions.
