The Central government of India has sanctioned over 88000 affordable housing units for Bihar under its ambitious scheme Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
As per the information, about 57,131 affordable housing units for Madhya Pradesh, 24,576 for Tamil Nadu, 6,231 for Manipur, 4,898 for Chhattisgarh, 4,261 for Gujarat, 2,389 for Assam, 643 affordable housing units in Kerala, 331 affordable housing units in Jharkhand and affordable housing units in Daman & Diu.

Although MP ranks at number 1 in the list of States sanctioned more affordable housing units. Around 2.66 lakh houses approved with a total expense of Rs 18,283 crore. While Tamil Nadu got second place with over 2.52 lakh houses sanctioned with a total project cost of Rs 9,112 crore.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), these affordable housing units would be built in the size of 30 sq mt carpet area. Other than this, these affordable housing units would be constructed with basic civic infrastructures like water, sewerage, roads, power, telephone lines and social infrastructure such as community centres, parks, playgrounds and livelihood centres, etc.
