Urban Development and Housing Department has released the second list for providing permanent housing facility for poor who are living in slums. Samastipur and Dalsinghsaray have also been included in this list. The process of providing housing for all has been started. Under the scheme Rs. 2 Lakh will be provided to the each beneficiary by the civic body by conducting a camp.
In this process, the beneficiaries will have to lay the foundation within 15 days after the issuance of the work order. The first of installment of Rs. 50,000/- will be credited in the beneficiaries after verification of it. In second phase Rs. 1 Lakh will be given after the verification of roof molding work. And finally, in third phase remaining Rs. 50,000/- will be given in form the third installment after photography. In this, the beneficiary will complete the work of plaster, door, window and flooring.
With the aim of providing housing for urban poor who are living in slums, the Central government had launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Housing For All (Urban Mission) by 2022 on 25 June 2015. For the implementation of the about 60 percent financial assistance will be provided by the Centre while 40 percent fund will be born by the State government. The target is to provide housing for all by 2022.
Under the scheme, only EWS and LIG houses will be created. The EWS houses will be provided for those people whose annual income is 3 lakh while LIG houses will be provided for those people whose annual income is from 3 to 6 lakh. The maximum carpet area of EWS houses will be 30 square meters and LIG houses carpet area will be 60 square meters.
