Launch of Pm Ujjwala yojana in Maharashtra –

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) have been launched in Maharashtra on Friday by Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to provide free LPG connections to BPL households. The move will benefit 91 lakh households living below the poverty line in Maharashtra over the next three years.

Four lakh households in Maharashtra do not have LPG connections,  Important to mention that government is working on  updating the social economic caste census (SECC) data. The identification of BPL families is done through 2011 SECC data. Check Your Name in List now!!

  2. PMUY scheme provides subsidy of Rs 1,600 to the women beneficiaries, comprising security deposit of 14.2 kg cylinder, domestic pressure regulator, domestic gas consumer card and administration charges, among others.
  3. Under the PMUY, Rs 8,000 crore has been earmarked for providing 5 crore LPG connections to BPL households and in the first year 1.5 crore connections will be Provided .
