Odisha Govt to Set Up 20 New Hospitals in State – The State Government of Odisha government has made a decision for setting up 20 new hospitals at an estimated investment of Rs 1,000 crore in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
It was decided at a high level meeting chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. According to the officials, these hospitals will be opened in 11 high priority districts under Odisha Health Service Investment policy-2016.
The state government will open Hospitals in Hub and Spoke models under the Affordable Health care Project of the State Government. Whereas some hospitals will work as central hospitals or hubs, the rest will operate as branch hospitals or spokes.

Facilities Available at These Hospitals
Below is the list of the medical facilities available at these hospitals –
- Trauma Care facilities
Apart from the above facilities, there will be provision of Cardiology and Neurology departments at the hub hospitals.
In these hospitals, minimum 2700 new beds will be available in the 20 areas after completion of the project. Under these hospitals, the state government will treat those patients who have health insurance and assurance benefits. Apart from this, those patients who have special category facility will also get benefit from these hospitals.
The State Government will also develop these hospitals with an investment of more than Rs 1000 crore whereas they would generate employment opportunities for over 10,000 people mostly in para-medical sector. Besides this, women will get maximum benefits from these hospitals.
