Namak Yojana to start in 10 districts in Lucknow – New Scheme
Uttar Pradesh government is going to announce a new scheme onwards from 20 November. This scheme which is going to start is named as Namak Yojana and aspected to start in 10 Districts first. Under this scheme Government Fair Price stores will soon start selling double fortified salt in selected 10 districts first. Scheme is to be launched on November 20 by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Although it is not confirmed yet official. Food and Civil Supplies Commissioner Ajay Chauhan reviewed preparations for meetings with officials on Tuesday.
n the first phase of the scheme is to be launched in 10 Districts.
Food Commissioner Ajay Chauhan said the pilot project that in the first phase ten districts will be selected under Government Fair Price stores and will start selling fortified salt. Under the 10 District selected are as Siddharth nagar, Santkbir Nagar, Faizabad, Mau, Meerut, Frurkabad, Moradabad, Hamirpur, Etawah and Auraiya.
In these following ten districts 4,624,925 ration card holders will get benefit under Namak Yojana. Antyodaya and BPL card holders will get salt at Rs 3 per kg and APL card holders will get salt at RS 6 per kg under this scheme.
