Nabakrushna Choudhury Secha Unnayan Yojana – Recently, the Union Cabinet headed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Mr. Naveen Patnaik has given approval to a new scheme named ‘Nabakrushna Choudhury Secha Unnayan Yojana’. This scheme has been named after renowned freedom fighter and former CM Nabakrushna Choudhury. This scheme has been launched at the cost of Rs 635 crore and other 10 projects.

Nabakrushna Choudhury Secha Unnayan Yojana

The Nabakrushna Choudhury Secha Unnayan Yojana will help in the irrigation of 55 hectares of land. Moreover, the cabinet has also decreased the Value Added Tax (VAT) on LPG for both domestic and industrial use. It has been decreased to 5% from 15%.


Also, the revision of Project cost from Rs 2600 Crore to Rs 3843 Crore has been approved in the Odisha Union Cabinet. This revision has been made for constructing 473 33/11 KV substations with associated 33 KV and 11 KV lines


Nabakrushna Choudhury Secha Unnayan Yojana

CM Patnaik led Odisha Government is planning to get financial and technical support from the World Bank. It is being planned in order to bring systematic development in teaching and learning in the educational institutions under control of Higher Education Department under its Odisha Higher Education Project on Excellence and Equity (OHEPEE) for providing the better approach to the students from disadvantaged sections of the society.


Apart from this, the state government also increased the compensation to legal heir of victims killed by wild animals. It has been hiked to Rs 4 lakh from Rs 3 lakh.

The Union Cabinet also gave approval to the tender for the work ‘Implementation of Municipal Solid Waste Management of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BMC) on design, build, operate and transfer (DBOT) basis. The secondary transportation, treatment and scientific disposal of municipal solid waste in the service area of BMC are covered under this project.


The proposal for Amendment of the Odisha Municipal Act, 1950 and Odisha Municipal Corporation Act, 2013 was also approved.
