The facilities could be accessed from 800 private and 700 government hospitals by the policyholder for over 1,600 medical needs requiring hospitalization such as childbirth, gall bladder stone operation and so on.
A Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme has been also drafted by  SACHI which will provide similar benefits to senior citizens.

SACHI’s Chief Executive Alok Mitra said that the MSBY is a state-funded initiative which extends the ambit of the RSBY. He also added that the two schemes together covers over 8.75 crore people in UP which mean almost 45% of state’s entire population. The scheme will have long term implications as the demographic dividend will eventually grayHe informed that families with elderly would get a separate cover of Rs 30,000 per person.
