Madhya Pradesh Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana – Madhya Pradesh government has launched a scheme called Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana in favor of farmers. Through the Chief Minister’s Solar Pump Yojana, the government will provide electricity to the farmers in such areas where there is no provision for providing permanent electricity connection or electricity has not reached there. All the farmers of the state will be benefited by this scheme.
How will the farmers benefit: –
Under this ambitious plan, the Central Government and the Madhya Pradesh government will provide 90% donation for the farmers of the state to install Solar Pump. The Government will provide a Solar pump to the farmers of those areas where the power line is not available within 300 meters.
Simultaneously, such places near river or dam, where there is adequate availability of water and where the requirement of water pumping is high, such as the area of Burhanpur. And where the real power consumption of farmers is more than 1,500 units per SP, they will be able to take advantage of this scheme.
Objective of Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana
- In order to reduce the pollution generated by diesel pumps.
- In order to increase the productivity of the irrigation areas.
- In order to reduce dependency on Grid Connected System for irrigation.
- The arrangement of Irrigation System in remote areas where there is no electricity.
- In order to help farmers from the economic problem, they face when they use diesel pumps.
Eligibility for Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana
- Agriculture areas situated beside canal, lakes, rivers and ponds.
- Forest / Villages areas where there is no facility of electricity.
- Villages situated 300m away from the main grid line.

The application form is available for this scheme. The application form is available for this scheme, where the initial date of this scheme is 15th April 2017 and the last date is 15th May 2017. This scheme was announced in the budget of 2016-17, which has been approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers. This plan will be very helpful for areas where there is no source of electricity connection. Government will provide solar pump connections for these areas.
Under this scheme, the state government will give 7900 crore rupees to the distribution companies. In addition, under this scheme, Government will also give a subsidy of upto Rs. 76 crores on Solar Pump connection.

How to get the benefits of this scheme: –
To take advantage of this scheme, the minimum distance of the field should be 300 meters from the power line. Under this scheme, farmers will have to pay 14000 rupees annually.
Government will provide the free power of 5 Horse Power to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe farmers.
The farmers will be given a subsidy of Rs 1.75 per unit.
The power consumption of the farmers, which will be utilized by the regulatory commission, will benefit from this scheme more than 1500 units per SP.
