Project Life-Housing Scheme

The Kerala State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced a scheme named ‘Project Life-Housing Scheme’ to provide homes for 2 lakh homeless or without land families in next five years.

What is Project Life-Housing Scheme

Under this Project Life-Housing Scheme, the state government has aimed to provide homes to the people who don’t have their own homes or land. All landless and homeless families will be rehabilitated in the next five years in Kerala state.

The project is implemented by the departments of local self-government and social welfare department, Kerala. The government has plans to provide facilities in housing cluster like health centers for the elderly, a creche, study rooms, libraries, computer facilities and skill development centers etc. For the selection of the beneficiaries, the priority is given to the families run by women, single women, households which have ill or old people, girl students below 15 years of age and the families who are victims of riots, natural calamities and domestic violence.

Kerala government also ensure to provide facilities such as power supply, water supply, sanitation facilities, cooking fuel and other amenities for the families. Kerala is known as god’s own country and such type of initiative for the welfare of the people is really appreciable
