Karnataka Government to Provide Free WiFi in Rural Areas
The Law Minister of Karnataka Mr. T B Jayachandra informed that the state government is planning to extend the free WiFi service to rural areas for the upcoming three years with the support of government-run BSNL.
Under this scheme, the state government has to bear Rs 79.50 crore. Approval for the release of the funds for the scheme has been given by the cabinet. If the plan comes will be implemented then the service of free wifi will be availed by the people of rural areas of Karnataka from 2017 to 2020.
The controversial RERA bill albeit with amendments was also approved by the cabinet. The approval for the cloud seeding projects owing to disappointing monsoon witnessed in the state was also approved by the cabinet. Setting up seven super specialty hospitals across the state were also approved by the cabinet. Each of these hospitals will be constructed at a cost of Rs 35 crore.
