Karnataka Anila Bhagya Scheme to be Launched in Dharwad District
Karnataka Anila Bhagya Scheme – The state Government of Karnataka led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is going to implement the Chief Minister’s ambitious scheme of providing domestic LPG connections to the needy people of the state and making the State smoke-free in Dharwad district on 1st December.
Details of Karnataka Anila Bhagya Scheme
Vinay Kulkarni (Minister of Mines and Geology and district in-charge) informed that the Mukhyamantri Anila Bhagya Scheme would help the rural poor, BPL cardholders, Antyodaya cardholders and construction workers.
He also informaed that the main motto of the Karnataka State Government behing launching this scheme is to help the poor people of the state for the improvement of their living standards, particularly those who are facing breathing problems due to the use of firewood and kerosene.
Under the Karnataka Anila Bhagya Scheme, a total amount of Rs. 4,040 would be spent on each connection by the state government. Under the scheme, a two-burner gas stove and two LPG cylinders will be provided to all the eligible and the needy applicants of the scheme.

Karnataka Anila Bhagya Scheme
According to the information provided by the minister, there were a total number of 55,919 families in Dharwad district without LPG connection. The state government has planned to cover all these families under the scheme. He informed that a total number of 17,921 beneficiaries would get new LPG connections in the first phase of the scheme.
Minister also clarified that under the Central Government’s ambitious scheme i.e. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana (PMUY), all the beneficiaries had to submit a total amount of Rs. 1,650 to avail the benefits of a new LPG connection. He said under the PMUY, a total number of 22,000 beneficiaries had been selected in the district. Out of the total beneficiaries, about 13,000 beneficiaries had already received new LPG connections. He informed that the beneficiaries of Anila Bhagya Yojana, the beneficiaries would not need to pay anything.
