Jharkhand Saubhagya Yojana – Free 24×7 Electricity Supply

The State Government of Jharkhand led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Raghubar Das has launched a new scheme named “Jharkhand Saubhagya Yojana“. Under this scheme, the state government will provide electricity to all the 29,376 villages in the state.

During the launching program, CM Raghubar Das said that only 38 lakh families out of 68 lakh families in the state could get electricity in 67 years.

According to an official release, the state government has provided electricity to about 13 lakh families in just three years.

The state government has set a target of providing electricity to the remaining 17.64 lakh families. CM said that the state government will provide the 24×7 electricity supply to the people of the state. Through this scheme, not only the life of the people in the villages will change but also there would be a change in their thought, economic condition, education of their children and lift irrigation for the farmers.
The state government will made an electricity hub by the year 2022. CM also stated that the chief minister further said that this scheme would produce electricity and provide electricity to other states as well.

CM Das also informed that currently, the coal is being sent to other states for electricity, but by the year 2022, electricity would be generated from Jharkhand and provided to other states. He further said that state was working with a vision and mission.

He said that those villages who do not get electricity through grid have been electrified through solar energy. There are a total number of 248 villages which are hilltops and electricity has been provided to such places.

Highlights of Jharkhand Saubhagya Yojana

A total number of 17.64 lakh families in villages and 1.64 lakh families in the urban areas will be provided electricity under this scheme. Apart from this, the state government will provide the electricity supply free of cost.

The state government will provide electricity connection to the APL families (Above Poverty Line Families) and the APL families will have to pay Rs 500 in 10 instalments of Rs 50 each month, he said.
