Haryana Identified Crime Scheme – The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar has approved the launch of a scheme for identifying and take appropriate measures in rapidly disposing of heinous crimes.

According to the spokesperson, under this Identified Crime Scheme, the Haryana Government will constitute state and district-level committees which will be headed by the additional chief secretary and deputy commissioners respectively.
The State government is making strong efforts to rein in heinous and sensational crimes such as dacoity, murder, terrorist activities, rape, gang rape, rape of small girls, kidnapping etc.
On First Tuesday of every month, the district-level committees will for the identification of the heinous and sensational crimes during the month, if any, and submit recommendations to the state-level committee, which would decide on its inclusion in ‘Identified Crimes’.
After that, the state-level committee will review the progress made in various cases and take corrective measures in clearing the bottlenecks in investigation or trial. It would also review the number of cases reported from different districts, he said.
If the number of the cases reported by any district is insufficient or there is a crime which qualifies to be covered under the scheme, but the authorities have failed to report, then the committee would take up with that district, the spokesperson said. The committee will also meet on the third Tuesday of every month and bring the latest progress report on the cases for review and necessary action.
The spokesperson said heinous and sensational crimes created a deep impact on the psyche of the society and, therefore, required close monitoring to get justice delivered. Crime control is an extremely important aspect of good governance and brings a sense of security among the citizens, he added
