Haryana Govt. to Start Antyodaya Anna Yojana for Workers and Poor People
Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board is going to launch a new scheme named ‘Antyodaya Anna Yojana‘ for workers and poor people of the state.
Under this scheme, the Welfare Board will open canteens for construction workers and poor people to provide food at affordable prices.

They will be provided food at heavily subsidized rates, breakfast for 5 rupees and full course meal for 10 rupees per person right at their workplace.
This decision was taken at a meeting of the Labour Department held in Chandigarh yesterday. The mobile vans will be deployed to make food available to the poor at labor chowks.
Chief Minister of Haryana Mr. Manohar Lal said that final touches will be given to the scheme within a month.
He said that similar schemes run in other states were also discussed and reviewed at the meeting to arrive at the best possible option. He said that initially the scheme will be started for one year and non-governmental organizations and social organizations will also be involved in its implementation.
