Gujarat Sujlam Suflam Jal Sanchay Abhiyan – The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Vijay Rupani has launched the Gujarat Sujlam Suflam Jal Sanchay Abhiyan on the 58th Foundation Day of Gujarat for the conservation of water. The state government has launched this campaign from the Ankleshwar Tehsil located in the Bharuch district. Under this campaign, the Gujarat government will create an additional capacity of 11000 lakh sq.ft of rainwater storage in the next 1 month. Besides this, about 13,000 ponds and check dams will be deepened along with restoration of conventional water resources.

Water is the mandatory resource for the holistic development of any state. The Gujarat Government has realized this thing and is making consistent efforts towards water conservation. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani himself run a JCB Machine for digging out soil for the construction of a pond in Kosmadi village.
Five different departments of the Gujarat government will spend about 350 Crore rupees in the Water Conservation Campaign. Along with the public participation, this campaign will be run throughout the month through four thousand JCB, Hitachi, Poklane and 8000 tractors and other equipment. This will prevent rain water from flowing. Chief Secretary Dr. JN Singh informed that under this campaign, 13 thousand pond check dams will be made deep, 32 rivers will be revived to 340 km and cleanliness of 580 km canals.
