Gujarat PNG Service – Piped Natural Gas Connection Subsidy Scheme
Gujarat PNG Service – The State Government of Gujarat is going to launch the PNG service in Bharuch. In line with the Central Government’s ambitious scheme Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat has initiated this scheme in Bharuch. Under this scheme, the Gujarat State Government will provide gas line connections to those people who do not have Gas line connections.
Gujarat PNG Service – Objectives
The main motive of the Gujarat Government behind launching this scheme is to provide LPG services to the people throughout the state. Under this scheme, those people who do not have piped Natural Gas connection will get a subsidy on gas connections.
Gujarat PNG Service – Eligibility Criteria
- As the Gujarat Government has launched this scheme for the people belonging to below the poverty line (BPL) category. Thus, such people will be eligible for availing the benefits of the scheme.
- The people living in urban areas and holding BPL cards will also be eligible for the scheme.
- Presently, there are a total number of 18 Lakh consumers are registered under PNG connection. It means that 18 Lakh people are using piped Natural Gas for cooking on the family basis. After the implementation of the scheme, more people will be able to get the connection.
Gujarat PNG Service – Subsidy Benefits
The State Government has sanctioned a total amount of Rs.71 Cr for a project. According to the authority, each beneficiary will get Rs. 1600/- as a subsidy under this scheme.
Implementation of the Service
As per the official information, the state government will implement this scheme from 1st May 2018. The concerned authority will first start implementing the service among the Urban population in the state. After that, it may, later on, log to the rural areas as well.
