Gujarat Govt Launched Shramik Annapurna Yojana Today
Shramik Annapurna Yojana – The Gurajat State Government has launched the Shramik Annapurna Yojana for providing subsidized meals to the laborers of the state. This scheme was initially launched on an experimental basis at 83 hiring points for masons (kadiyanakas). This scheme will now be implemented in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, and Valsad.
Details of Shramik Annapurna Yojana
Today, the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani will inaugurate the scheme in Akhbarnagar kadiyanaka. It will be launched by the Gujarat Deputy chief minister Nitin Patel in Kalol in Gandhinagar. Rupani will later address a gathering at the Gujarat University convention center.

According to the Principal Secretary of the labor and employment department Mr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta about 5.66 lakh laborers are registered with the labor board. He stated that the Shramik Annapurna YojanaThe scheme was initially launched at 83 kadiyanakas.
He Minister Rajiv Gupta further informed that the menu has been changed based on laborers’ feedback. Some reports suggested that people who are not laborers were queuing up for the meals.
According to him, the meal under the scheme will be served only after digitally checking registration numbers. According to the information provided by Rajiv Gupta, about 95% of registrations had been verified and all registrations would be verified in a couple of days.
According to the Labour and Employment Minister Dilip Thakore, the food was served to around 25,000 laborers daily during the trial period.
According to him, the Gujarat Government was exploring the possibility of implementing the scheme across the state.
He informed that if the government would find an agency that meets all norms, then they will implement the scheme in all Nagar Palikas. He said that funds for the scheme had been allocated by the state government.
