Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi said that the Central Government is aiming to provide job opportunities to the unemployed people in about 2.5 lakh gram panchayats throughout the country under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana.
The main motive of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana is to provide stable employment opportunities to the people in about 2.5 lakh gram panchayats throughout the country. Under this scheme, the government is providing training to the young people to make them self-reliant.
During this, the West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Locket Chatterjee said that Prime Minister Modi is addressing women self-help groups via video conferencing.
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana Features
- Employment through skill training and placement – Under the mission, provision of Rs. 15 thousand has been made for the training of urban poor to make them skilled, which is Rs. 18 thousand per person for the North East and Jammu & Kashmir. Apart from this, the demand for urban poor to train urban poor in market-oriented skills will be met through City Livelihood Centers.
- Social solidarity and institution development – It will be done through the formation of Self Help Group (SHG) for the training of members in which initial support of Rs 10,000 is given to each group. The level federations of registered areas are provided with assistance of Rs. 50,000.
- Subsidy to the urban poor – Self-employment will be promoted through the establishment of micro enterprises and Group Enterprises. In this, interest subsidy of Rs. 2 lakhs for individual projects and interest subsidy of 10 lakh rupees for group enterprises will be provided.
- Shelter for Urban Destitution – The cost of construction of shelters for urban homeless is fully funded under the scheme.
