Yesterday, the Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha launched a new skill development scheme Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Sanchar Kaushal Vikas Pratisthan Yojana for providing training to the youth.

Under this Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Sanchar Kaushal Vikas Pratisthan Yojana, the rural youth will be trained to maintain mobile towers, repair optical fibers and fix other communication technologies across the nation.
During the launching of the scheme, Minister said that we are going to start the skill development program at 10 rural locations and train 10,000 people in 1st phase on a pilot basis. In the coming days, it will be implemented across India.

Sinha said that increase in broadband connectivity through BharatNet will benefit 60 crore people by December 2018.
Minister further said that at present, we see rural youth selling mobile sim, repairing mobile phones.I believe that in coming days companies will need a skilled workforce to maintain mobile towers, repair minor faults in optical fibers. As many as Rs 7 crores will be spent to train 10,000 people.
He said that the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Sanchar Kaushal Vikas Pratisthan Yojana will help the in developing the skill of youth and giving them a push in the right direction are challenges.
Firstly, this scheme will be implemented in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Punjab and Haryana.
Manoj also said that under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Sanchar Kaushal Vikas Pratisthan Scheme, the government will reward people doing innovative work in the telecom space.
