Atal Amrit Abhiyan Assam – Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme Launched in Assam
Atal Amrit Abhiyan Assam – The Hon’ble Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu has launched Atal Amrit Abhiyan for providing health facilities to the people of the state. Under this scheme, the government will provide free medical care of up to Rs 2 lakh for every individual from Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Above Poverty Line (APL) families.

For the first time in the history of the country, on behalf of any state government, 92 percent of the people of the state are going to start the free health check-up of Atal Amrut Yojana. Under this campaign, in the last one year, one crore fifty lakh people have been given biometric cards, which can provide free treatment upto Rs 2 lakh in Assam and any hospital in the country.
The Assam Government has sanctioned a total amount of Rs 400 crore for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan Assam in the financial year 2018-19.
Under this scheme, patients can get treatment for cancer of up to Rs 2 lakh by showing cards in any major hospital in the states other than Assam. In addition to this, keeping in view the growing number of cancer patients in the urban and rural areas of the state, the government has decided to open 19 cancer hospitals in the state in collaboration with the Tata Memorial Trust. In this direction, the government has tried that patients of the state should be treated here without any hassles. The Health Minister said that it is serious on the health of the child. For this, work on two other schemes is being implemented along with a rich Assam scheme. Under this scheme, treatment of various diseases of the children of all 12 years of the state will be free in the near future.
