Assam Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Registration will Start in February 2017
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been extended to all 97 towns in Assam. While, the scheme was initially planned to be implemented in just 9 towns of the state. The implementation of the scheme will start in all 97 towns in the first week of February 2017 by the urban development department of the state.
The government will focus on the uniform structure of the housing units to full fill the basic needs of the people. The government is working towards the successful implementation of the scheme in all towns and provide a better life to urban poor home homeless people in the state.
PM Awas Yojana was launched by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narender Modi. This scheme was launched on June 25, 2015, with an aim of providing housing for all by the year 2022. Under this scheme, the eligible beneficiaries will be provided a financial assistance of upto 6 lakhs in the form of a loan at low-interest rates. This financial assistance will be provided to beneficiaries to construct their own housing. This assistance will be directly credited to the accounts of the beneficiaries.
The interested eligible candidates can apply for PMAY – Urban by visiting their nearest common service centers as the central government recently have also started accepting online applications for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through common service centers across the country.
The selection of beneficiary is running on the basis of Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data. The candidate selection and approval process starts from the Panchayat level and reaches all the way to THE ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation.
