Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has inaugurated ‘Samajwadi Shadi Anudan Yojana’ in Lucknow on Monday. In this scheme, the state government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 to the poor for the marriage of their daughter.
During the program, CM Akhilesh Yadav informed that the total amount will be directly credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts. He said that the state government is trying to provide the benefit of the scheme to the required people across the state. He also honored 10 daughters by giving the certificate of Shadi Anudan.
The important thing is that in this scheme previously the government was providing Rs. 10,000 but now this assistance amount has been increased up to 20,000. According to the scheme, the assistance amount will be provided for the marriage of maximum two daughters from one family. In this scheme, all categories people of the society can apply for the marriage assistance of their daughters.
CM Akhilesh Yadav said that about 2 lakh families will be benefited under this scheme. The eligible applicants will be able to apply through online for the scheme from the financial year 2016-17.
The income certificate will not be required for those applicants who are receiving old age pension, disability pension, widow pension and Samajwadi pension.
