Ama Ghare LED Light Karyakram – The Odisha Government had announced its budget 2018-19. In this budget, the state government has announced various welfare schemes such Ama Ghare LED Light Karyakram, Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Programme, Biju Yuva Vahini, Khushi Scheme, Mukhyamantri Chakshyu Jatna Karyakram – Sunetra, Nirmal Programme, Nidan Scheme, Nirmaya Scheme, Gangadhar Meher Sikhya Manakbrudhi Yojana, Akanshya, Mo School Campaign, Mukhyamantri Medha Bruti, Basudha Scheme and Green Mahanadi Mission.

Let we inform you, this budget is the final budget of the Odisha Government. This budget is of Rs. 1.2 lakh crore. This budget is 12.3 percent more than the previous budget i.e. 2017-18.

Ama Ghare LED Light Karyakram

In this budget, the Odisha Government had introduced the Ama Ghare LED Light Karyakram. Under this scheme, the state government will provide free 4 LED lights/bulbs to all the poor families of the state. The main motive of the state government behind this scheme is to light up the houses of the poor families who are unable to purchase LED’s or are using other bulbs.

Details of Ama Ghare LED Light Karyakram

These LED Bulbs are energy efficient and so reduce the electricity bills of the people belonging to EWS (economically weaker sections) category of the society. Under this free led bulb scheme, the Odisha government has sanctioned a total amount of Rs. 125 crore in its budget. However, information regarding identifying the poor families is yet to be worked out.

Highlights of Odisha Budget 2018-19


The upcoming schemes announced in this budget will mainly focus on the overall development (health, education, infrastructure, farmers) of the state especially in the rural areas. Besides this, the government will also focus on the important schemes as announced in the Union Budget 2018-19.

For ensuring electricity for all in the state, the state government has sanctioned a huge amount of Rs. 560 Crores under the Biju Gram Jyoti Yojana, Biju Saharanchal Vidyutikaran Yojana and the State share of Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana  (SAUBHAGYA), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) and Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana ( RGGVY).
