65,000 Job Opportunities for Youth in Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that the companies will train the 65,000 unemployed youths and also provide jobs to the trained youths in the private sector. It is not possible to provide government jobs to all the unemployed. Till now, the government has given government jobs to 44,463 youth in various departments from December 2012.
The government has provided employment to 2.90 lakh Himachalis in various industries. He said that the state government had launched Kaushal Vikas Bhatta Yojana in 2013 at an expense of 500 crore. The aim of the scheme was to provide Rs.1000 monthly to the eligible youths for 2 years. Rs .1500 is being given to the 50% disabled youths. The government reduced the age requirement from 18 to 16 years. Lower educational qualifications from 10th to 8th.
Industry Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the state government is ready for necessary amendments to build the plan more effective and more and more youngsters involved in the project. For the upgradations of the skills of unemployed youth and to enhance their employability skills the Himachal Pradesh government has introduced Kaushal Vikas Bhatta Yojana in 2013.
A budget of 100 crore is being allocated every year for the scheme from last four years. The government has established Skill Development Corporation, which will provide employment to the unemployed youths of the state.
