The District In-charge Minister of Mangluru B Ramanath Rai said that 37 villages have been selected under ‘Gram Vikas scheme‘. These villages are being given special focus in terms of development, including basic infrastructure.
He said this on yesterday (26 January 2017) on the occasion of India’s 68th Republic Day Rai after unfurling the flag.

He said that around 962 works related to drinking water have been completed in the district. He added that also 414 road development works and drainage works have been taken up under Nagarotthanna scheme, 53 more such works will be taken up in the second phase at a cost of Rs 31 crore.
He said by stressing the to safeguard the rich culture and heritage of India that there is a need to bring the downtrodden to the mainstream of the society. He felt that only when every youth gets work, the fruits of democracy will reach all.
