Centre’s most awaited Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched in this year to provide gas connections across Indian. The scheme aim is to provide gas connections to the poor women of India without any security money.
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Awas Yojana was launched this year by the Central Government of India. Under this scheme, the gas connections will be provided to the poor women of India without any security money.
About 16,389 women beneficiaries have been identified in Bhatinda district for providing gas connections without taking any security money. These women beneficiaries will be given regulator along with gas cylinder.
DC Ghanshyam Thori informed that this scheme is specially launched for the families living below the poverty line (BPL). The women of such families will be given gas connections. In order to take benefit under this scheme, the eligible women must have BPL card, AAdhar card or Voter Id card. Registration for this scheme can be done under the name of the woman on the basis of her Passport size photograph along with her documentary identification.
DC informed that several camps were organized by the District Food and Supplies Controller office workers, Anganwadi workers, Block Development and Panchayat officials in order to identify the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries have been identified by investigating the applications received by these cams. Applications are being uploaded online by sending to the area relating agency.
According to DC, the applications which have been found correct will be given cylinder with regulator after the upcoming order from the government. The beneficiaries families have been identified on the basis of social and economic census 2011. The applications have been filled by the women who not have a gas connection. According to the DC, there are about 32,195 beneficiaries in the district. They are being contacted for registration.
