Govt. to Launch Ujjwala Plus Yojana for Remained Women Beneficiaries
The Central Government is likely to launch Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Plus Yojana (PMUY) to distribute gas connections to the remaining eligible women beneficiaries who could not get benefit under the previous PM Ujjwala Yojana.
In last five months, the central government has distributed around 24 thousand gas connections in several districts of Madhya Pradesh. After the distribution of gas cylinder, the government has put a temporary hold on the scheme for few days.
After the temporary stay on Ujjwala Yojana, about 3,000 women beneficiaries are left for distributing gas connections. About 80% women beneficiaries are very happy after receiving the gas connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Meanwhile, the Cylinder’s rate increased, the subsidy would be Rs 158
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry has increased the prices of LPG from 1 December. Rs 637 will have to pay for Domestic and Rs 1181will have to pay for a commercial gas cylinder. Subsidy amount of Rs. 158.53 will be transferred by the government to the account of the consumer. There are about 35 thousand consumers of Indane gas in the district.
10 Thousand BPL Ration Card Holders Deprived of Gas Connection
Gas Cylinders has been given to only those women whose name was successfully recorded BPL list in accordance with the social economic census 2011. There are still about 10 thousand such families who have BPL card but do not have a gas connection.
