The Central Government of India has decided to provide free gas connections along with the housings under its ambitious scheme PM Awas Yojana Gramin. The Jharkhand Government has decided to implement this scheme firstly in Jamshedpur. The Jharkhand Government will provide free LPG gas connections to the eligible beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin.
Yesterday (2 Feb), Minister for Rural Development & REPA C.L. John. launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) in Nagaland. During the launching program of the scheme, the Minister called for effective implementation of the program for the benefit of the rural populace.

On Wednesday, the Jharkhand Chief Minister and Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda laid the foundation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAYG) in Ranchi District, Patratu village of Chutu panchayat under Kanke Block.
The state government of Telangana has launched a Housing policy named Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme to provide a 2BHK house to all eligible beneficiaries of the state. The Government had constructed 80,000 houses in the financial year 2015-16. For the current financial year 2016-17, 1.4 lakh houses will be built in HFA (Housing for All) 2Bedroom houses in partnership with GOI and GOTS. Each house will have 2 Bed Rooms, hall, kitchen and two toilets (bath-cum-WC) with a plinth area of 560 Sq.ft. with an estimated cost of Rs 5,30,000 lakhs.
The Union Cabinet has approved a new scheme for promotion of rural housing across the country. Under the scheme, the government will provide interest subsidy. According to the scheme, the every rural household will get interest subsidy who is not covered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
